Professionally, I have been developing responsive mobile first landing pages for OnSite Digital Solutions since May of 2015. This experience has further honed my skills in building fast responsive web pages without relying on bootstrap or other robust libraries.
Taste the fomo is a mobile web app that enables users to easily see how much money they would have, had they bought Bitcoin at a chosen date .
Any time Bitcoin is discussed someone always says I’d be sooooo rich if I bought X dollars worth of Bitcoin on X date. The goal of this project is to show the user exactly how rich they would have been had they bought x dollars worth of Bitcoin on X date.
User feedback and testing was a huge part of this project. After weeks of testing, and hours on the phone, we finally went live with this project, and our user base has been growing every week.
A major part of this project was to ensuring the app was simple and intuitive to use. Throughout the development of this project many ideas were tested in the field before they were pushed to the production version of this app. Testing beta versions allowed optimization of unforeseen pains using the app, allowing for a much better user experience on production versions.
Working with land conservation biologist Bill Scullion, of the New Jersey Conservation Foundation, I designed and developed a frog and toad calling web-app. This app was created to aid herpetologists working in the field.
Before this app, identifying frog and toad species was a complicated process. The scientists had few options and often lost contact with the amphibians before they were able to conclusively identify them.
User feedback and testing was a huge part of this project. After weeks of testing, and hours on the phone, we finally went live with this project, and our user base has been growing every week.
Working on this project with non-tech biologists taught me the skills needed to effectively communicate and collaborate with non-technical team members.
I have contributed to the Parity project throughout its evolution. From completely customized pages, to optimizing and customizing their current website. This experience has allowed me to build sites from the ground up as well contribute to pre-existing unfamiliar code bases.
Lets Git It is a web app to gamify work on repositories, specifically designed for bootcamp students.
Intensive learning programs present unique struggles for even the most dedicated students to recall and track their progress in these extraordinarily fast-paced settings. Additionally, learning management systems can be sterile and disconnect students from their own feelings of autonomy and responsibility for their own learning.
Our goal is to create a product that empowers students to self-report their own progress and adds an element of fun motivation as they traverse these challenging alternative-learning programs.
The Ez-Keyboard was designed to allow anyone with a passion for music the ability to join a jam session.
Anyone who plays music is often confronted with the creative friend that wants to join in on a jam session, but lacks the technical skill. The Ez-Keyboard was created specifically for that situation.
With this app anyone can join a jam session, all you need to do is let the user know what key you will be playing in, and the Ez-keyboard will eliminate all the sour notes.
Testing and re-testing drove this app. This project also taught me about the caveats of HTML5 audio and key driven event triggers.
